EDPS Camera Club
Registration next opens 25 January 2024 for 4 days
A lot of current members tell me they put off joining because they thought they wouldn't be good enough; and when they did eventually join they realised they were absolutely in the right place. You don't have to be shooting on manual, you don't have to know what you're doing and you don't even have to use a big camera if you don't want to.
The club is a place to continue YOUR journey. If you want to work with your phone camera all year, that's fine. If you want to take up something new like bird photography or macro, then you'll find lots of people ready to help you.
If the only thing stopping you joining is that you're worried you won't fit in, then go ahead and sign up, and join in for the first month.
If you decide it's not for you during the first month, just email me and I'll arrange a full refund.
You get immediate access to all the existing camera club projects. Each month a new project is added. There is a private members-only community platform for discussion and photo sharing (not Facebook).
You need to understand what aperture, shutter speed and ISO are, and how the camera exposes. You do not need to shoot on manual mode all the time, but you need to know how to do it in theory. If you're not ready yet, join A Year With My Camera (AYearWithMyCamera.com) for free beginner's lessons. If you've done the first book of AYMWC (or the first 4 modules) you're ready to join. The projects are designed to let you take the ideas in your own direction, rather than being told exactly what to do.
Most members use Lightroom or Affinity. You don't need to process your images to join the club but we recognise that processing is part of the image creation process.
Most members us a camera with manual controls but you can join in almost all the projects with a basic phone camera.
Feedback is available from Emma during our once-a-month online get-togethers. Peer critique is encouraged when requested.
New registrations are invited when space becomes available.
The joining fee is refundable within the first 30 days of membership. You can cancel your ongoing subscription at any time.
